The Safety Committee exists to promote the safety and security of the people and property of New Hope Presbyterian Church.

The purpose of the ministry is to provide a secure place for worship, ministry and fellowship.

In the exercise of our ministry we perform various functions in support of church safety and security including planning, training and security functions, including:

• Assessment and monitoring of known or anticipated safety hazards and security threats.

• Providing security and response for most services and some special events.

• Periodic review of the church’s Emergency Operations Plan and making recommendations for revisions to Session as needed.

• Education and training of congregation members, church staff and volunteers on security topics as needed or requested.

• Management of the children’s ministry volunteer screening program, Sexual Abuse Awareness training and criminal background check process.

• Liaison with public safety, emergency preparedness agencies and other cooperating organizations
